  1. Alpaca Fleece

Alpaca Fleece is a light weight, durable, water repellent, lustrous, and silky soft natural fiber. Compared to sheep's wool for is being a natural fiber, a good insulator, a non scratchy or prickly fiber and has no lanolin which makes it hypoallergenic. The fleece comes in more the 50 different shades from true blue black through varies of browns, fawns, grays and white. White is the predominant shade. White fiber can be dyed in a large range of colors.

Shearing of the Alpaca fleece happens only one a year. Usually it happens towards the end of spring, beginning of Summer, to give the Alpacas not only a nice cool summer but also a chance to grow back their fleece before the cold  of winter rolls in . After the shearing is complete, the raw fiber is cleaned and prepared to the be spun into yarn from which it is made into beautiful alpaca products.
